The August variant update for PokéRogue has introduced a range of new features, improvements, and bug fixes that enhance the overall gaming experience. This update is packed with exciting changes, including a shiny event, gameplay adjustments, and new features that players have been eagerly anticipating. New Features
Shiny Event
With the release of today's update, along with the new variants, we have a new Shiny Event!
- 2x Increase of Wild Encounter Shiny Rates in all modes!
- For the duration of the event, in Classic Mode, your Rival will give you:
- 2 Shiny Charms (across the first two encounters with them)
- 1 Ability Charm early on
Major Changes
- New shiny creatures in the wild!
- Admins arrive!
Minor Changes
- Music: Added ORAS Champion theme for Mixed music.
- Language Support:
- Catalan language coming soon!
- Japanese language added!
- Gameplay:
- Endless biome now consistently rotates every 5 waves.
- Eternatus now references the number of classic sessions played.
- More grunts and new dialogue added.
- Phione eggs now have a 1/8 chance to hatch Manaphy.
- Reverted the egg additive change back to multiplicative.
- Starters can now remember egg moves.
- Tandemaus now evolves into a family of 3 only 25% of the time.
- The final boss' passive is now disabled.
- Ultra Necrozma joins the battle!

- Clanging Scales: Stat drop bug fixed.
- Dragon Tail: Freeze bug fixed.
- Flame Burst implemented.
- Foresight implemented.
- Freezy Frost: Stat changes elimination bug fixed.
- Lucky Chant implemented.
- Make It Rain: Stat drop bug fixed.
- Miracle Eye implemented.
- Move Failures: No longer apply respective buffs/debuffs.
- Odor Sleuth implemented.
- Protect Interactions changed.
- Psycho Shift: Now treats Comatose as sleep.

- No longer trigger regenerator twice.

Abilities
- Disguise: Now works like Ice Face.
- Flash Fire:
- Boost is no longer passed with Baton Pass.
- Now properly triggers if the Pokémon is frozen.
- Gulp Missile implemented.
- Heatproof: Now reduces burn damage by half.
- Levitate / Sand Attack interaction fixed.
- Mycelium Might implemented.
- Pastel Veil implemented.
- Sand Spit: Now only activates when hit with a damaging move.
- Stall implemented.
- Sweet Veil updated.
- Toxic Chain: Now only applies on damaging moves.
- Zero to Hero: No longer triggers on switches due to fainting.
Items
- Ability Charm: No longer offered as a reward after wave 189.
- Eviolite: Now unlockable through an achievement.
- Mini Black Hole: Now transferrable again.
- Scope Lens: Now available for enemy trainers.
- White Herb removed.
Quality of Life (QOL)
- Auto-Filtering: Implemented in starter select for challenges.
- Ether Weights: Shop weights adjusted for lower PP moves.
- Flyout: Now correctly reflects PP changes from Spite.
- Forced Switch: Skipped if the fainted party member has already been revived.
- IV Scanner: Now lets you see the stats mid-battle.
- Fresh Start Mode:
- Mini Black Hole now disabled.
- No longer possible to catch Pokémon in the last biome.
- Starters no longer have a fixed cost of 3.
- Localization Improvements: Various updates made.
- Starter Select Screen: Several improvements made.
- Smeargle Learnset: Reverted to pre-Gen 9.
- Targeting: Now highlights held items.
- Achievements Page: Now scrollable.

- Arena Trap/Shadow Tag: Flyouts now show up properly.
- Cosplay Pikachu and Rotom Forms: Now start with their signature moves.
- Final Boss: 2nd phase transition now also occurs when receiving damage from a status.
- No Retreat: Fixed failing when trapped by another effect.
- Battle Victory UI Issue: Fixed rare glitch where a Pokémon fainting after battle victory caused UI issues.
- Game Data Export: Fixed freeze issue.
- Fresh Start Mode: Pokémon no longer remember egg moves through Memory Mushroom.
- Pokémon Name UI: Fixed weird affixes attached to Pokémon names.
- Egg Gacha: Prevented usage in the rewards screen.
- Victini: Now listed in the correct generation.
- Weather System: Now properly resets when the arena resets (e.g., on biome change).
